Mechanical bonnet latches

Comfortable operation – no safety hook required. The mechanical front hood lock is operated with a double pull for safety purposes.

  • Two-pull mechanical hood locks
  • Weight: 230 g
  • Dimensions: 75x23x80 mm
  • Symmetrical mounting holes around the shackle, both lock surfaces flat
  • Mounting possibility: L/R by rotating 180°
  • Hood preload: 300 N

Comfortable operation – no safety hook required. For safety reasons, it is operated via a double electric release. Modular solution with a high level of versatility. Options for mechanical/electric/cinch versions. ALL functions in ONE product. Integrated pop-up function. Waterproof release unit. Separate external cinch actuator (closing drive).

Active and passive bonnet hinges

Active pedestrian protection system. Using pyrotechnic cartridges, the hood is raised from the engine compartment, creating a larger crumple zone in case of a collision.

  • The active hinge is triggered within the vehicle speed range of 20 km/h – 55 km/h. At all other speeds, the hinge remains deactivated. 
  • The time from pedestrian impact to hood activation is 50 milliseconds.

Case studies

Integrated 5th Door Latch

Challenge
The current solution consists of a separate lock and actuator, weighing a total of 2000 g, taking up space in the 5th door as two independent products.

Solution
Brano managed to combine both components into one while maintaining the same functionality.

Customer Benefit
The result is a more space-efficient, cost-effective, and lighter product with the same functionality and a reduced carbon footprint.

Electrical Frunk Latch

Challenge
The transition to electromobility introduces a new front trunk under the hood (frunk), leading to more frequent openings for which these parts were not originally designed.

Solution
We developed a frunk latch specifically designed for use in the front trunk.

Customer Benefit
Our frunk latch makes the front trunk easier to open, including the option of electric opening from the driver’s seat, enhancing user convenience.

Electrical Back Seat Latch

Challenge
The standard solution for folding the seat backrest is purely mechanical.

Solution
We replaced the purely mechanical system with an electric one.

Customer Benefit
In addition to significant space savings (eliminating the handle and cable in the trunk), the ability to fold the backrest electrically from multiple locations within the vehicle enhances user comfort.

Electrical Power Striker

Challenge
The usual solution provides only one fixed position for the rear seat backrest recline.

Solution
We replaced the fixed striker with an electric one.

Customer Benefit
This solution offers greater comfort for passengers, as well as the ability to increase trunk volume by adjusting the backrests.

Challenge
The standard solution consists of either a fixed or manually detachable tow bar.

Solution
We replaced the static solution with an electrically deployable system.
